The Characters: It really surprised me how much depth there was to most of the character, given the book is only 276 pages. The majority of the characters seem to have light and shade to them, good qualities and bad. They feel like real people, struggling to deal with very real problems. Of course, Will and Stella aren't the only characters Five Feet Apart is obviously a very emotional novel with many themes but there is one main theme that seems to pop up a lot throughout the book. To dive deeper into the wonderful theme of this wonderful story, finish reading chapter 3.At this point, what Stella needs to control most is keeping herself away from anyone or anything that might pass along an infection and jeopardize the possibility of a lung transplant. Six feet apart. No exceptions.The only thing Will Newman wants to be in control of is getting out of this hospital.
